Mel’s Gardening was founded in 2000 by the late Mel Martin. Mel’s experience, passion and love for gardening was the driving force in starting the landscaping company. Mel was definitely a true people person who enjoyed a good chat with new and existing customers.
Mel and his son Darryl started out with a 1991 Nissan Frontier and a 4′ x 8′ wooden trailer. Mel’s Gardening Inc. operated out of Mel’s home with the help of his wife Gail, who did the bookkeeping.
In 2015 we expanded our company to our present location at 391 Brackley Point Rd. in Charlottetown. Along with our landscaping services, we also offer a Retail Bulk Shop which typically operates from May to September. Our staff includes up to 12 employees each season.
Darryl Martin, Mel’s son, is currently the owner of Mel’s Gardening Inc. Like his father, Darryl has a great passion and interest for landscaping. Darryl believes that treating his customers with the utmost respect and professionalism is essential in building a strong business relationship.
